Kate has been curated into the
group show "New
Millennium" at the Lismore
Regional Gallery. Kate is artist-in-residence at Tokyo Wonder Site (TWS), Japan until end of August by virtue of an Arts Victoria and OzCo-funded Asialink placement. http://www.tokyo-ws.org/english/aoyama/index.html
Kate is currently exhibiting at
TarraWarra Museum of Art from
April 20 - July 1, 2008. .Kate will be exhibiting in 'Handle with Care' the 2008 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art, curated by Felicity Fenner as part of the at 2008 Adelaide Bank Festival of Arts, from February 29 to March 16. Artists exhibiting in 'Handle with Care' include Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan, Dadang Christanto, Lorraine Connelly-Northey, James Darling and Lesley Forwood, Dennis Del Favero, Janet Laurence, Anthony Mannix, Tom Muller, Dorothy Napangardi, James Newitt, Bronwyn Oliver, Gregory Pryor, Sandra Selig, Warlimpirrnga Tjapaltjarri, Hossein Valamanesh, Suzann Victor, Guan Wei, Catherine Woo, Ken Yonetani and a collection of young Australian filmmakers Kate has been curated into the group show "4aXY 10 Years of Gallery 4A" from the collection of Dr. Dick Quan. Exhibition dates are 18 October - 1 December, 2007. Opening night on Wednesday 17, October 2007, 6 - 8 pm. Kate has been invited to participate in "Art & About", a feast of art exhibitions and events presented by the City of Sydney, between 2 - 21 October 2007. Kate's work (pictured below) is installed at the AMP Building forecourt, Circular Quay.
Kate has been curated in the group show, "Decadence, Decay & The Demimonde at Home House", 20 Portman Square, London. The show opens on October 10. Kate is one of 60 artists profiled in the book "Untitled: Portraits of Australian Artists" by Sonia Payes. (Macmillan 2007) The book was launched at the NGV Australia in July 2007. Kate was profiled in the article "Animal magnetism" in the July/August 2007 edition of Vogue Living- Australia. Kate recently participated in the group exhibition "Cultural Trackers" at 24hr Art: Northern Territory Centre for Contemporary Art, Darwin, 3 August - 8 September 2007. The exhibition followed a two-week camp that Kate and four other interstate artists were invited to attend in collaboration with Injak Arts and Crafts near Gunbalanya in Western Arnhem Land. Kate has been granted a 3 month residency at the Paris Studio by The Australian Council for the Arts. She will be taking up this residency from April 6, to June 30, 2007.
Frieze Magazine in the January-February 2007 issue, for the article "Looking Back: Solo Shows" asked a number of critics and curators from around the world to choose what and who they felt to be the most significant shows and artists of 2006. One of the shows selected for special mention from Australia was Kate's show "Some Kind Of Empire" at Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces. Kate appeared on the ABC TV program "Sunday Arts" on Sunday, February 11, 2007. The segment profilled Kate's work and current solo show at the Kaliman Gallery. (click below to see video)
